Bio - Mestre Glauber

Mestre Glauber Fernandes is a widely respected young master of the Capoeira art-form. Born in Brazil, he has been in the U.S. for the better part of the last decade, dedicating his life to the practice and spreading of Capoeira in the U.S. and abroad. His years of experience and lineage provide him with a vast knowledge of Capoeira history, and a great deal of connections and resources within the Capoeira world.

Mr. Fernandes has decades of experience in the many elements of Capoeira, from the physical to the musical, and stems his Capoeira experience through the lineage of Mestre Bimba, who is greatly responsible for bringing Capoeira into these modern times. His master, with whom Glauber began his Capoeira training in 1982, is Mestre Suino, the greatly respected head of Grupo Candeias (an international Capoeira organization with hundreds of members).

He majored in Physical Education in 1994 at the ESEFEGO ( Escola Superior de Educacao Fisica do Estado de Goias) in Brazil, and speaks conversational English and Spanish, as well as his native Portuguese.

Mestre Glauber is currently teaching in Jersey City, NJ and gives workshops all around the world throughout the year.
